How can I stop my guitar case Gibson pressing my arm vibrato SG?

So I have a Gibson SG. It's nice, really nice. But the plant presses case down very deeply on the arm vibrato when it is closed. I can not take off the arm a screwdriver. Every thought, I mean, it's just poor design. Fender vibrato arm comes off in seconds, and if Fender give enough room for vibrato anyway. Ugh.

I always hated that about Gibsons. I have a '74 SG with a Vibrolance, and if not not. The new … uh, that's another story. And unfortunately, the most recent cases Fender require you to remove the arm as well (but at least you can remove it with tools). Sometimes you can just switch around your arm where it points to the butt of the guitar. But it looks like change, or foam in the event with a custom case will be your answer.
